private_access

Updated

A private field or method read outside its struct's impl.

A member marked private belongs to the struct's own methods. This access sits outside every impl of that struct, in the same file; in the editor and under alloy flux the type checker reports it as an error, since the public type of the struct has no such member. The lint reads the receiver: a name the file types as the struct, with an annotation or a new, or the struct's own name. A receiver of another type or of no known type stays quiet, so task.spawn is not the private spawn of a struct.

Set its level in the [lint] table of alloy.toml, or for one file with --@alloy-lint.
